As has been said, it's always handy to have if the site electrics go down (or if someone trips your hook up box by overloading) as you will still have lighting etc. If you don't have a mover fitted, you don't need a really powerful leisure battery. Also handy to have for overnight stops/unexpected breaks in a journey - you can just pull over into a layby or services and still have lights and toilet flush.
