There was a big bang and the spring that holds the insect meshing door suddenly went floppy and could not could not use it anymore.

Anyone know how we can mend it. Not sure whether you can take the moulding off the back of the door and either get a spring or ???

The little blind on the door has gone also. It's permanently down and we cannot roll it up even when we managed to get it off.

Is this the case of not having either or can anyone help.

Thanks.

These kind o f things are great to mend. They all come apart and if you dont break the little plastic lugs ;;go back together again. Theres lot s of spare bits available .new , ebay or from scrappers. Springs dont usually break they just need rewinding to put some tension back in them and reassemble . Take just a little bit of practice to get them back together without them springing open. Mesh can be bought by the yard and glued or taped on --its a lot easier than cleaning them and its cheap. If you cant men , the units are usually available put can be a bit pricey. Remember the fixers adage it went together so it must come apart !!! but think look and think again before using the screwdriver!   And there are lots of answers to this already here if you do a search

I do try Jeff but he insists at times. But honestly we do not know how this went because we were just sitting at the table I think I was lying down. It suddenly went a big bang and we jumped out of our skin. After gathering the skin and putting it back on we found the mesh door would not shut without a fiddle back inside the casing. It is so handy as Bob snores bad and it allows us to keep the door open all night to let the air in.
