Another RAC Arrival from Camping and Caravanning Club here. I keep thinking of changing to ADAC but it will probably wait until I do the next European towabout.
While ADAC are very good (I have it for my motorhome) it does not cover the caravan unless it is attached to the car at the time. for EU travel while towing I recommend either CC's Red pennant, or C&CC's EU cover. they are specifically designed for caravanners & will in the case of the tow car being made unusable while the caravan is on site will pick up the caravan from the site & recover it home with the car.
when my tow car was made unroadworthy & the caravan was on site I was in the position of having both Red Pennant & Britannia , Britannia would not recover either as the recovery cost of the car exceeded its market value, however Red Pennant gave us a hire car, picked up both my car & caravan & brought them home where the repairs quoted as 7800 euro by the Spanish main dealer garage was done for £1100 in the UK
