A few years back I made the mistake of trying to inflate my caravan tyres using the caravan's 12V socket!! The inflator did go for a few seconds but its own fuse blew very quickly. Since then the socket has not worked with anything.
On the caravan I have looked at all the fuses (vehicle blade type) in the battery charger/transformer and none of them are blown. All the other 12V systems work, lights etc.
The mains fuse / distributor box has no additional equipment for the 12V system (blade fuses or reset buttons) so I know its nothing to do with that.
I am all out of ideas! I know it worked once! All I want to do is charge my phone.
I have a Geist AK495 (LMC). Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks!
Now there's a question !! There is almost certainly a fuse relating to the socket somewhere. What have you tried in the socket that makes you sure it's not working?
Wonder if you possess a multi meter and are able to test the circuit. If all else fails, I'd be inclined to take the socket out, test the terminals at the rear of the installation and if no current present I'd rewire running cable to the 12v terminal at the transformer installing an in line 3amp fuse. Alternatively, if the Geist is fitted with a battery, could wire direct to battery but must be fused..........Mick

Thanks for the suggestions. Still no joy - but will keep at it. If anyone with a Geist out there has any ideas...?
My LMC handbook unfortunately has a different model of mains fusebox illustrated to the one that is actually installed so the instructions don't match the equipment.
The one illustrated has a 12V reset button that pops out - mine doesn't. Oh well, will persevere :-)
May be a job for Mr Caravan Service next time he's over.
It may sound stupid but I take it that you do have a fully charged leisure battery connected up prior to connecting appliances to the 12 volt power socket.
