A guy nearly took his brains out with a gaz bottle exploding on our site when he was cooking, wot a bang!!
Not knowing the full story, but we think that the gaz bottle wasnt screwed tight to the burner head.( one of those cans that you punture)The gaz bottle just ended up in bits,
Please if you use one of these, MAKE sure that the can is screwed tight.

This can also be caused by using pans that are too big for the rings, causing the bottle to get hot and explode.
Isn't that the suitcase stoves, rather than the Gaz ones where you actually puncture the canister by screwing the burner in?
Whilst working on a campsite once, a similar think happened to a guy and his girlfriend in a tent with one of these gas canisters with the screw in light instead of the stove thing. The whole thing went up including the tent. They were both seriously burnt too. Just take care with all portable gas equipment.
