My Primera DCi was a 2.2 diesel estate; same platform as an X Trail, but without the 4 wheel drive.
Hammered the poor thing for a few years towing the caravan to tour top of Scotland and tour the South Coast of England.
Never missed a beat, used any water or oil, and servicing was so, so easy & wear and tear parts like brake discs etc were very cheap. Straight through every MOT. Air con never needed regassing. Typical Japanese style really; everything just worked.
Sold it for a big Japanese 4 wheel drive that grips in the snow; otherwise, would have run it into the ground.
Can pick them up for less than £1K now; cant recommend enough. Bit different to a run of the mill family car. The SVE spec had all the conceivable toys, including a reversing camera as standard, great for lining up tow bars & tow hitches...
