We mainly stay on CL's so need to use our own facilities which is fine. However, the shower will not drain as the plug hole is at the front of the shower unit. Apart from positioning the van at a 45 degree angle pointing forwards, does anyone have any ideas on what we are doing wrong?
Put a small sheet of plywood over the shower tray and put a 12" spirit on top and see how far out of level it is but you may be surprised that it isn't that much out actually so the next time you level the caravan use exactly the same method. Just place another spirit level in various locations in the caravan to see how far out the bubble is and if somewhat excessive then it could be a possibility that the floor under the shower cubicle could be slightly delaminated causing the shower tray to tilt slightly. However, with this method your shower tray should always drain the water away even though they often do need drying off afterwards like Jeff (above) said.
We got fed up with trying to level our van when the shower water wouldn't drain away, so my hubby split the pipe underneath the van where the water was supposed to drain away, and stuck a bucket under it works fine now
When setting up after levelling side to side then front to back I always wind down the steady under the shower first. That way I know the tray will always drain.
Hi Everyone, Thanks for all your replies. I dont think it's the plughole or pipes are blocked, it's just the levelling. I level side to side, then front to back, and I've even tried dropping the front of the van down, but nothing seems to help. I'll try your tips next time out. Thanks again.
the only time we had this problem was when for some reason the van was not level side to side.re-leveling cured it.after a week on loose stones (hardstanding) the legs had become slack.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
