Anyone done this, I was thinking of doing underseat heating as this is where the vents are so where the cold air comes in. Plus the kids can't touch the hot heaters.

I tried with undercarpet heating mats under one of my seats when we had the very cold weather about 18 months ago. Not really worth the effort and I got better results by putting Kingspan insulation on the floor under the beds (making sure vents kept clear). However undercarpet heating mats work very well in the main floor area of the caravan and keep tootsies toasty warm with very little power consumption leaving the rest of the power for space heating.

What kind of cost were these floor heaters and where did you get them. Low wattage is what I am looking for, something you can leave on .

Do you have blown air heating fitted to the van? If so and if the ducts go under the seating area then you can puncture small holes with a screwdriver (every so often) and the warm air comes out under the seats. Adria use this simple yet affective method to avoid cold spots.

I agree with Wizzo. Such a simple but great idea by Adria.
Along with air gaps up the back of the seats and though all the cupboards. No cold spots anywhere.

Maybe the problem is you are confusing floor ventilation vents, common in van up to 1998, with gas drop holes?
Gas drop holes to allow escaping gas 'out', are normally small round vents directly below gas connection points, or at least very close to them, these should obviously never be obstructed.
On the other hand, much larger floor vents unconnected to the gas supply, are to allow ventilating air 'in' and prior to 98, were excessive to say the least and a big problem when it comes to trying to heat the van in colder weather!
