Just returned from our first trip the caravan. 3 Nights at Plassey leisure Park. The van performed perfectly and the site is second to none. I love it when a plan comes together.thinking of returning for the halloween bash. The only thing i did'nt do was set up the awning i need to practice this in private before becoming a spectator passtime
Dont worry about the awning, if you get into trouble someone will come along to help. No one will be laughing at you.....they may be laughing but only because they remember being there!!!
We just had our first weekend and wrestled with the awning, we had a spectator or 2 who ended up inside helping us to prop it up!! Brilliant!

Oh yes, and the wife not speaking to me for a few hours after the roof pole donked her in the face and on top of her head a couple of times.
I hate to think what the neighbours thought of all the commotion!!! On a sunny afternoon with everybody sitting out also. Doh.
Mainly do it on my own now; I cheat, and use the 2 extra supporting wind poles to support the front and middle main roof pole whilst I am sorting the back pole. Works well. Dont whack the wifes head now neither, so a ready supply of tea & homemade cookies is forthcoming...

Caravanning for 22 years
1997 Toyota Land Cruiser 3.0TD & 2004 Avondale Mayfair 510-5L
Previous towcars:
2002 Nissan Primera - sold
2002 Ford Galaxy - Died & scrapped. Good riddance.
1998 BMW 525TDS SE - PEx
1998 VW Passat SE - Crashed into & scrapped
1997 Peugeot 406 GLX - PEx
All sorted now. The 3 awnings turned out to be 1 awning in 3 different bags i had a go at fitting it to the caravan on Monday and after a trip to camperlands to sort out 2 poles all is now well and quite easy to put up
Ive yet to have my first trip out: just bought a van after not having one for two years: Decided after two years of B&B's caravanning is the only way for me !!
