We are shopping about for a second hand caravan at the moment and have found we have a specific set of needs that is making it entertaining but not impossible.

We need our caravan to fit on the driveway, that means it’s maximum length including hitch/a frame/towbar (shipping length) can be 25ft 3 inches.

My husband would love a twin axle but most I have found are to long by far for the driveway.

It needs to have bunk beds that run along – rather than across the back of the van.

So I have been searching about and I have found one van, I just wondered if anyone knows of others.

Does anyone have any suggestions on makes, I am searching and found a Sprite Major 6 but it seems to be 2010 for this layout which also makes the budget to stretched.

Bailey would be worth a look, some of their family vans had fixed bunks length ways without being long vans

Adria Altea 6 berth are 24ft and there are 2 layouts. One with triple bunks, side dinette and large end bathroom which is the one we have, the Altea Taymar/Sportline DT or the Altea Severn/Sportline DK which has double bunk with rear dinette at the side and centre bathroom. Both are lovely vans, a few of us on the forum have them and so far we are all more than happy with them. You have to be quick to pick up a second hand one though as they seem to go pretty quickly. good luck in your search for your perfect wheeled cottage

Adria DK worth a look? although the bunks are 6ft 2in and not 2ft 6in as in the listing

Adria DT this is the triple bunk layout.

Where is best to find the ads, I daily hunting on ebay, gumtree and preloved, and having to sort out the "dross" and scammer ads each day.

Just off to look up the Adrias, I have noticed they have quite a following.

Does this link to caravanfinder work? If I've got it right, it should show twin axle vans on caravanfinder under 25ft long with fixed bunks, but with my IT skills it could actually be practically anything ;-)

The Adria layout looks a lot like the Tec we were looking at today.

In the Ardria Altea 542 does the table in the U shape fold away, I take it the table also turns into the bed?

The tec model we visited today was in poor condition, I also couldn't tell if the big table in the u shape could be put away during the day.

Here is a page with layouts on. The large table is freestanding and is stored in the wardrobe, the dinette table makes in to the bunk I think. We've never used the dinette as a bunk as we have 3 children and the triple bunk layout. Excellent link by White Rose, I had a look myself love nebbing at different vans

The Adrias are definitely worth a look but as mentioned above they go very quickly.

The Bailey 540/6 also has the triple bunks, but they are not as large as the adult size versions in the Adrias.

We have the Altea 542dt and absolutely love it.

Another adria 542DT owner here and also love it. Bunks are much larger than Bailey vans at 6'2" long and 2'6" wide.
