Well with all this reading of leaky vans well looks like im gonna have to spend a few days resealing mine and repairing sooner than I had wish.
Looks like the PREVIOUSLY repaired leak that the previous owner had sorted when he bought looks like its leaking again, Noticed this after about 4 weeks of owning as I saw last service report and was all ok bar one area of 40% which he stated had been sorted and resealed. It had but with silicon which obv not doing the job.
Its only in one section but gonna reseal all the rails of the van as im gonna be keeping this van for a few years so want a proper job done "ME" hhmm not sure if that's classed as a proper job LOL.
Then onto fixing the damage inside with looks like a new roof panel and new side panel + and bits that are knacker, Just hope this does not show any BIG gremlins.
Once this is done im going to be installing a CD player and speakers for when were on EHU ;) as im a big lover of my music "Don't like silence, Even when sleeping"
Then onto fitting a new break away cable that due to me rushing forgot to un hook and broke "WOOPS" and also damaged the A frame plasic cover, Could have been a lot worse ;-(
Pretty sure there's other stuff I wanna get done as well LOL
Sikaflex 512 is the better one, according to most repairers, be sure to order it just before you start, as it goes off quickly and make sure it has a long date stamp.
Artic - we used Sikaflex on the outside where the durability mattered and the PU18 that wizard recommends on the inside which was half the price and pleased with both results.
Also Soudall is about £5 in screwfix and would also be good on the inside.
Yes for sticking the wallboards, wood and insulation. It's an adhesive too and a really blooming strong one too + solvent free. I decided against stuff like Gripfill etc, as some people have reported it not going off properly. A lot of the grab adhesives are not suitable for external use and although the inside of the caravan is not external, I felt it was subject to a lot more extremes in temp than a house, so wanted something that can be used externally.
I went for Al+mel's theory of "belt and Braces"
