Just got my first van and intend to use it next week,so i decided to try gas etc to make sure all works.Guess what standard gas cylinder is to big in height to fit upright in locker by a few inches.Where i live in ireland i have found it near imposible to obtain a smaller cylinder local.I was even told by a Calor gas salesman to lay it on its side(don,t think thats a good idea)Sooo would it be alright if i did a little diy and dropped the hole a few inches where the cylinder sits to make it fit.At any one time i would only be carrying one cylinder.
What size cylinder do you have? Butane or propane?
Calor have all the usual sizes listed with plenty of stockists.
4.5 and 5kg butane, 3.9 and 6kf propane. These should fit without issue.
You can get propane cylinders than work on their sides they are designed for forklift trucks and have arrows showing which way round they need to be fitted.
fork lifts use liquified gas not vapour dont use one for habitation use . same using tanks for fuel they are different to tanks for habitation.
bottles upright please .
