Has anyone had to claim on caravan insurance at all that would still recommend their insurance company?
We are looking at replacing our caravan, which was a no fault write off when a person drove into it at speed. However claiming from the camping and caravan clubs club care insurance has proven to open a dispute that will now result in us going to the FOC. Un needed additional stress.
Is there anyone who has made a claim who would recommend their insurers, and all things considered we would happily pay for a decent service when it is needed in the case of “you get what you pay for”.
We were insured with caravan guard when our van was written off, claim process was very straight forward, i was very suprised at how helpful they were all the way through the claim. They paid out quickly also so we were able to purchase another van very quickly

Another vote of confidence for caravan guard. Our folding camper was written off and they paid up the full market value from photos of the damage within about six weeks of notification. They were really helpful and kept us fully informed throughout. Their cover prices werent too bad either.
For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013
sounds like you are having same issues we had last year....we were with lifesure.
non fault claim that was being challenged by other party, so it got dragged out and lifesure werent overly efficient.
i stuck with Lifesure purely because we had to as the renewal was due part way through claim and i had to pay full price until claim was resolved by which time they kept their promise to refund the difference to bring back our NCD once claim was closed.
i would renew with them if the premium was right as their policy does have the benefits i want to insure, and i know their claims process inside out, or lack thereof (and i am in the trade), but i found it cheaper elsewhere with the same underwriter, so got the same product, just through a different broker.
caravan club, excellent, storm damage to van[hailstones] settled within 2 weeks.
------------- its easy enough to be pleasant when the world rolls along like a song.but a man is worth while if he can smile when every thing goes f------ wrong.
We had our caravan stolen earlier this year, caravan guard settled in a month no problems at all.
The renewal came round with the new van no loading, we have been with them for many years and never had a problem, prices are very good.
We also have Caravan Club insurance and have had cause to make two claims in the last ten years both dealt with quick and without any hassle, so I would recommend them from my own experience.
------------- Never argue with an idiot, they will bring you down to their level then beat you on experience.

Thank you for all the responses, we spoke with Caravan Guard and explained the claim is still ongoing but we want to move on and get a van. We will have to pay a little extra as we will have to wait to re instate the no claims.
I am so disappointed with the lack of service for a no fault claim from Camping and Caravanning Club's Club Care insurance that I can not bring myself to insure with them again and certainly can't recommend them on anymore.
