I have just bought a 1996/97 Compass Connoisseur 360/2 and I am thrilled with all of the gadgets but haven't got a clue how to work them lol. My previous van was a very old 1984 Abi debutante which had a very basic heater and fridge, this new caravan has a host of wonderful toys, water heaters, shower, hot air blowy thing and a very complicated looking fridge as well as a theford cassette loo with buttons a-plenty but unfortunately I don't know how to work any of them :/ I hope some of you wonderful people can help out a Geordie damsel in distress with any info I would find useful or even better a manual I could beg, buy, steal or borrow!!
I was also wondering if I would be able to swap the gas regulator over to my old one as the new van only comes with one bottle with a sort of press n twist coupling while I have two of the other screw on type bottles??
Might be worth buying a new regulator as they don't cost much. A new rubber hose to go with it would be a good idea - its date stamped and shouldn't be more than 3 years old (I think).
Thanks again :) I have looked at the theford site but they don't seem to have my type of loo on that page. I don't know what the model number is but when I get it I will ask their service department. It has a manual flush round button and an opening button but I don't know how to fill the flush tank or even where it is lol. I can take it out to empty from the outside no problem. It also has a little device on the front of the built in bit with a green sort of sticker showing, I am guessing this must be a tank full indicator of some sort??
The regulator I had on my older caravan was brand new, only fitted 3 months ago, and the hose I have on the new van is also immaculate, I was just wondering if I could fit the regulator I had on the old van onto the new caravan so I can use the bottles I already have? They are both the blue bottles of gas on both vans.
I can't thank you enough for your help hun. It is a very complicated business for someone like myself who isn't very technical :/
Swap the regulators, all will be fine, although if you are going to use the 'van in the winter a red regulator (propane) and red bottles would be better (you can swap the bottles). The hose date is important because oil suspended in the gas rots the rubber from the inside - it can look ok on the outside but be rotten inside.
The other manuals are probably on the web somewhere, you just need the model number.
Hi robert/julie, it is the older bench type hun. The manuals I have found haven't got all the gizmo's that this one has :/

The guys at the lock up where I store the van keeps an eye on the hoses for me and change them when they need it so I will ask him to check it out for me before I use it. I have heard that the red bottles have a much better no freeze capacity than the blue so I will take that into account too when I come to change the regulators. Thank you so much again. With this hep I will certainly be happy vanning in no time again!
I ahve checked out the manuals on the appliances but the one for the fanmaster and the theford loo seem to be just installation guides with no user instructions?? Or am I just having a few senior moments
