We are very excited to be buying our first caravan. We are getting an Eriba Troll, 1990 model. My question is, does anyone know if this model of caravan will be charged extra to pass through the tolls on French motorways? I understand that the height of the caravan is a little over 2meters. Any advice would be welcome. Many thanks

We had an Eriba Pan, just over 2mtres, sometimes we got away with class1, but were usually charged class2, if the sensor is slightly out you will get away with it but in my experience usually you won't.
Thank you everyone for your replies, much appreciated. It will be our first trip to France in the caravan so will perhaps take a different route and avoid the toll roads, staying in campsites en route to our destination.

Personally I think you miss the best part of any country using toll roads, we use the nationals and see the real country and its towns and villages much better and cheaper, but we don't have to rush there and back every days a holiday.
