Excuse my ignorance, as this is out first season: I've just ordered a Kampa 390 for our trip to Longleat in half term. I'm assuming it will be like other CC club sites with a hardcore base for the awning???
Will I need to buy rock pegs and how many do you generally need for an awning? Will it come with any pegs at all?

It will come with pegs of some sort but I guess not rock pegs. You can buy rock pegs in boxes of 20 which should be enough. Put 'rock pegs' into ebay search or your local caravan/camping shop will stock them.

Be a bit careful when you get Rock Pegs especially off ebay!

I got 3 different types over a short period of time from ebay that all ended up with squashed points after being used on 'rocky ground'!

There was absolutely no strength in the metal while the plastic fittings to hold the awning ties in place split and fell off very quickly.

It pays with this sort of item to 'See before you buy' and ask a few questions of the assistant in the shop or exhibition where you are looking.

We got some Blue Diamond rock pegs from our local dealer 20 in a box and they are great no problems with them and they do the job £15 a box.Ian

Same as Ian x 2 boxes for us.As these go through the breathable groundsheet we have to keep it down a mixture of these and skewers. All boxed. Go Outdoors, get a card first and you get % off as well.
