We have bought one of these and I tried it out on Saturday morning - however no joy Anyone any idea how long it takes to pressurise the system? I gave it 3 or 4 minutes, the needle never even moved on the pump. We have the new " intelligent" Whale pump fitted on the van. Thanks.
Hi weve got the floe drain down kit that we have used on our pageant series 7 for a couple of winters no problem . the pressure should start going up straight away ,Have you made sure everything is closed including the drain down on the boiler? We will be interested to hear from anyone with the new whale ic using floe though, as we now own an elddis affinity with that system and havnt yet used the floe ,although we did ask the whale rep at the nec at the weekend and he said it will be fine. Hope this helps

Hi, yes - all taps were shut including the drain down on the hot tank, plus I watched the video. Next move is to try again now I have " played around " with the valve at the inflating end - I am wondering if it was stuck shut.It will be 10 days before I get time to have another go, but will try pumping through it tomorrow if time permits.
as a further update I had another go over the weekend after having spoken to the MD of Floe after posting the original post - limited success - there was some pressure build up but not enough to shift much water, hopefully I will have another try before long
I do not have the FLOE but made my own which works the same. One thought if you have the Ultrastore boiler there is a red valve with a plastic pipe going out through the floor.Check if this is leaking out air as valve may be stuck or it may need replacing as they are known to fail.
I have always carried a spare one in van for a few years.
I have just used the floe on a Whale sysyem and at first there was no pressure. The iniitial pressure had pushed the floe connector very slightly out alowing air to escape.
When it was fully located into the Whale socket and held firmly in place by the cover flap the pressure built up.resulting in a full litre of water being removed from the taps.

That's about the same as I get out with my scrappy system, although if I do not remove the filter I get a bit of drain back of water from that.

Paul the MD of Floe advised me to ensure the kit was firmly in place on the filter inlet which I did , the other possibility is a leak inside the caravan on the pipes or the hot water drain. When I went back to the van the other day there was some pressure built up in the cold pipes at the moment I am working my n-ts off, but will try at the weekend
Hi we used floe on our whale ic system at the weekend for the first time, We got a jug full of water out, but it did seem to take longer to build the pressure than on our pageant series 7 without the ic .
we always open all our taps, valves and waste for the journey home from our last trip. this seems to work ok.
cannot understand how opening everything, going up hill and down dale and the force of the speed you are travelling pushing all the water back doesn't just empty everything.
Hi corni we have used the floe after doing as you do and still get a substantial amount of water out , certainly enough to damage an onboard pump in freezing conditions ,although ive got to admit that we have still had a frozen system when getting to site even after using floe so but it was -8
