Hello, I was surprised to find wetness on the floor of our seasonal pitch awning in between the waterproof groundsheet and the carpet squares (the interlocking rubberry type). I'm sure I got the overlaps right between the awning skirt and the groundsheet, so how else could it have got there?Above the squares I had an ordinary carpet. Any comments welcome. thanks.

Carpet made warm by sun on awning even at this time of yr touches cold suface of impervious ground sheet = condensation.

Condensation has nothing at all to do with water ingress.  It forms at a 'Dew Point' where warm air meets cold air.

The awning would have heated up in the sun, but the ground below the insulated covering (interlocking rubber mats) would remain cold.

The membrane is than trapping the moisture.
