This is our first year on a seasonal pitch and we wonder how to leave it when we go. We will still use the van but not as frequently.

We are not allowed to leave awning elec on etc. it's more a question of the stuff inside.

Do people leave bedding without issue? We also have a set of toiletries here and food?

What will be ok or do people empty everything which will then put us off little short trips. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you

Leave all furnishing on their end so that air can circulate around them whilst you are away (inc mattress if you have one)

Take ebedding home and wash it and leave it in a warm airing cupboard till you go away again. Cold sheets in winter Brrrr!!!!

Food may tempt intruders of the four footed + kind so perhaps take that home unless its tinned.

Drain down all the water systems and toilet just in case a frost comes along. Maybe even drive the Van around the site and back to the pitch to ensure that the water is rocked out.

The Adria's cope very well over winter and to be honest you should be able to leave it generally as it is.They have air boards that leave a gap between the upholstery and the outer wall so air circulates so no need to move cushions or beds. Just make sure no bedding touches the sides.

Don't leave any food if possible and if you do make you store it in a tuppaware type box. This will protect it from unwelcome guests but also just in case anything frees and bursts it will be contained in the box rather leaking out over your new van. The same goes for cleaning products etc.

On the continent Adria's are often used at Ski resorts so are set up for winter weather and have extra insulation on the heating ducts(if fitted to yours) and over the wheel arches.

Make sure you drain down the water system and rather than dragging it around the site then use either a Floe drain down device or a home made one

Here is a thread started last year ps I have put the photos back on at the end of the thread

The good thing about caravans in the winter is that heat up in no time given there small dimensions.

If yours has the Alde heat system you may want to invest in a cheapo fan heater just to give the van a blast when you first get on site.

When on site,If there is a chance of frost overnight then bring any aquaroll and pump in and store in wash-room. You can use a bucket instead of a wastemaster and if it freezes you can empty the block of frozen waste easily. keep a store of bottle water in van when on site
