When the chap came to service the chassis on my caravan last year, he sprayed something on the tyres. This made them look very black and shiny, but didn't make a mess of the wheel rims, etc. Anyone know what it was?

And should I get a set of wheel covers for the wheels overwinter? One gets a lot of sunshine, so might deteriorate more quickly.

Could be some thing like this as i use it.Try and get a couple of old sacks for to cover your wheels.

Its not a bad idea to cover wheels that are in direct sunlight so put some wheel covers on. I just use a bit of old tarp held on with bungee.
