My husband was busy looking for tips on the various mods that people have done to their van, and has stumbled across an interesting series of posts that I wondered if anyone else had heard of.
They are using nappy soak instead of toilet chemicals, because it is more environmentally friendly and does not kill the bacteria in sewage tanks. Another thing is it seems more effective in the cold weather, and the product stores for a lot longer duration.
Thanks, I have to say I couldn't see any reason not to use it so was interested if anyone had, as we are winter camping we will pick some up. I just prefer the idea to all of the chemicals, well specifically formaldehyde. Our main reason is we camp with the animals about all the time so would like to avoid it if its possible.

If you are worried about formaldehyde be very careful when using fabric softener as some of the supermarket brands and maybe others contain it, in fact if you look at the MSDS for the cheaper toilet fluids there is very little difference to the MSDS for the fabric softener.
