Hi there,
I've been reading lots of posts on this forum for a while now but never actually posted anything.
I am looking to buying my first caravan within the next 6 months. I understand that this time of year is a good time to look as most folk want rid.
We're looking for a 2 berth lightweight caravan for myself, partner and dog called Ted. We are avid campers, been camping for the past 10 years.
I own a 2010 Citroen C3 1.6 diesel hatchback, with a 1158kg kerbweight, I am somewhat limited on what I can tow. I know some might say I should trade it in for something bigger if I'd like to tow but I don't feel this is an option right now.
My partner and I are 29 and 27 respectively, so both have licences after 1997, therefore have a limit... Unless we obviously did the extra test. But due to the weight restriction on my car, this wouldn't be necessary right now anyway.
I've used the website..
Whattowcar.com
But am quite limited as that only seems to have newish caravans on there.
I originally was looking at Eriba Pucks, this how how it all started. But since then, I've discovered that I think I might quite like a proper bathroom and shower - ideally an end arrangement.
I've also looked at (online not in real life) the new Venus 380/2, which I like the style (and meets the bathroom criteria) but I think a new caravan will stretch us financially. We would need to get it on credit.
I also like the Adria action, and would like to see this in real life, but so far have not seen any come up within a 50 mile or so radius. And similarly the T at B, but these are a bit on the pricey side I think.
I would travel nationally for the right caravan, but not for research.
I'm not discounting older caravans, as I know most of them are lighter, but I'm the one whose more keen on thae caravan idea than my boyfriend, who thinks caravanninng is for the oldies, so to get him on board it needs to be something that looks a bit different or cool.
Does anyone have any suggestions which I've not looked at?
Thank you and sorry for the ramble :)

Freedom caravans are very light and the Jetstream 1st Class and Twin Sport have a toilet compartment including shower. They are built of fibreglass with a 25year life so good value 2nd hand if you can find one. Loaded weight 750kg. I have had one and can vouch for the build quality. http://www.freedomcaravanssouth.com/ Alternatively if your partner doesnt want to make the jump to an oldie wagon try a folding camper such as the Dandy http://www.rivadandysales.co.uk/category/camper Being lower they are a lot easier to tow and although you sleep off the ground warm and snug they still retain a camping ferel and are a little quirky. They last for centuries so are really good value 2nd hand.
