The long awaited day has finally arrived. we're off to pick up our new caravan. a 2009 swift challenger 580, fixed island bed.
shame I'm at work tonight otherwise we could have had a cheeky night away. I did say perhaps we could sleep in it on the drive tonight. just testing things of course.

No we didn't in the end. At least the spare room is back now, everything is in. Colin had great fun getting it off the drive using the motor mover.
There was a full awning in there too. Colin was convinced it would only be a porch awning. It's now in storage, but only 10 minutes away so we can go and visit.
Now to get planning where we are going to go next year. Work rotas at the ready!

Nice to hear other people have slept in their vans on their drives lol. We got a new van the other week and we slept in ours on our drive too. Anyway the big test this weekend is Keswick for four nights. It's going to be cold and haven't had Alde Heating before, so looking forward to trying it out.

We have Alde heating,it's great. I put it on gas when we arrive just to get things going, after about 20 minutes I put it onto mains. It just seems to start up quicker on the gas.
The pipes run under the bed in a U shape; down one side, across the bottom, back up. We get very hot in bed!!!!!!! We turn the heating right down at night but when it's really cold it still clicks on and boy do we cook!!!!!
