I recently purchased a Compass Rallye 500/4 special van. It's year 2000. Does anyone know how to drain it properly for winter?
I've removed the drain tap located outside the van, but worried there will still be water in the under van pipes and in the heater. Is there a second tap I'm missing? Thanks.
we have a compass and there is a yellow flick up switch on the pump that is located under the offside front seat. you cannot miss it.
yellow handle should point straight up to drain. don't forget to put it back down before you try filling it next time you go out.
If it doesn't have a yellow flick switch it may have a couple of red plugs on the underside of the caravan near the water heater. They can be a bit tricky to remove you have to push the collar back which will then release the red plug allowing the boiler to fully drain . Personally it's a bit tricky to do usually you have to crawl on your back under the van to get access. The easiest method is to put a pipe on the tap and blow as already given but it doesn't always fully clear the system out .
try what leebee1 says in draining caravan post above this one.
take head of shower close taps and blow.(get someone to listen outside at drain plug). water, then air should come out of drain plug on outside.
