Thought this was a bit of a coincidence but have now proved it isn't!

I have a 2005 Nissan X-Trail SVE with remote central locking.

My caravan is a 2003 Elldis Oddysey 524 to which I fitted a Euromover about 7 yrs ago.

Haven't been using the caravan that much so when I did and noticed that the mover was sluggish, thought it was a poor battery.

It would come off the drive OK but, even after a 4 hour tow, it would act as if the battery was flat. (Except that the caravan meter showed otherwise)

However, recently, whilst working on my caravan on the drive, I had to move it, so I used the mover. (my drive slopes and I usually nose it up the drive which is why I have a mover rather than using the car)

I switched on the mover master switch and then realized I had to move the car. The remote central locking wouldn't work so I opened the door manually which set the alarm off (switched it off with the key)

Drove down the drive and locked the car using the remote without any problems.

Caravan moved down the drive fine until it got close to the car (and where there is a hollow in the drive so it isn't assisted by gravity any more) then the mover control unit made a buzzing noise. I thought I had a flat battery (although it showed up as fully charged)

The only way I could get the caravan back up the drive was with the car but now the door is on the wrong side for easy access.

Mulled it over for a few weeks and done some tests.

I'm not an electronics expert but what I've found is that when the mover is switched on, it interferes with the car keys signal so the doors on the car wont unlock.

Also, as the caravan gets closer to the car, the signal to the mover control box seems to be compromised and the mover slows to a stop whilst the control box makes a buzzing noise.

Anyone else had this?

You probably need a new battery in your remote control.

If anyone rings my daughters door bell, the alarm on a car opposite goes off.
