hi guys
looking for a new freestanding arial for next year and was looking at the above has any one got one I am wanting to know if they are any good easy to set up ect
we've got the 530 and found it brilliant, bought a tripod to use it with as had a folding camper so no jockey wheel to put it on. Now about to sell as we have the tin tent now so no longer need it.
Plug into aerial socket and just keep turning it until you pick up a signal. The only time we had a problem was at Winchcombe this year as there were several trees but everyone else seemed to be ok so I think we were just unlucky with our pitch? still no telly meant we had to talk to each other so quite nice really and I read 2 books.
We use one of these too, never had a problem with it, we just position it same as the surrounding houses or vans, but got a Signal Meter for when there are no Aerials to go by.....

If Michael's offer doesn't work out, there are fair cheaper and equally effective solutions available, such as this kit from Toolstation for example. Basically the same type of solution and less than half the price than the 'Status' brand kit.
You do need a decent signal strength meter to be honest (as already suggested) and I highly recommend the UHF TV Signal Finder from Fringe; tried the rest and they're not much cop.
Because of the way the UK digital network now operates, you'll need to re-tune the TV at more-or-less every location, so you can't really get away with swiveling the aerial until a signal is found, as the TV needs to be tuned already for this approach to work - hence the need for a meter.
That Vision Plus is the one I have, now with the jockey wheel clamp & telescopic mast for the Dandy. Used to have a clamp for the side of the caravan using the offside awning rail and lower rail.
Best aerial I've had so far and I've had the status omnidirectional and the latest adjustable one.
For a signal finder I use the TV. On manual tune mine gives a signal strength indication on the screen. Most TVs probably do if you can find it.
It's surprising how many aerials are pointed wrongly. Most seem to look at other vans and point theirs the same but when the digital switch over happened many relay stations were closed but peeps are still pointing their aerials at them.
