Pretty much all PIR's are powered from a 12v supply off the alarm panel. The PIR provides a switched connection to signal a detection to the panel and an optional tamper loop. If your current PIR suggests similar wiring, then any PIR will do (they are fairly cheap off-the-shelf).
If in doubt, can you post a close up photo of the device and it's internal connections?
However, what makes you believe the detector itself has failed? It could be failure of the 12v supply to the PIR (fuse in alarm unit, failed wiring).
