Has anyone else had the same experience as myself? I had my Bailey Senator Louisiana parked on my drive with Alko hitchloch fitted and alarm activated & wheel locks fitted. It also has the CRiS Xtra kit fitted. Woke up this morning to find the caravan gone.
Please keep your eyes peeled for my 2006 Bailey Senator Louisiana Series 5 stolen from Acrefair near Wrexham between 1 AM & 6.30 AM on November 30th. It has a distinctive decal on the back bottom right CYMRU/GB and 80/90 speed stickers on bottom left although these may have been removed. I hope the insurance pay out as I am retired and this could mean the end of our caravanning.
Sorry to hear about your loss, we know how you feel ours was stolen in april this year, our insurance paid up in full within a month no problems , hope all goes well with you.
Our theft was recorded on cctv as it was in a storage yard, it takes less than a minute to take off a alko hitch lock, we timed it on the video.
If they want the van and are professional they will get it, think positive, I am sure things will work out for you.
sorry for your loss, keep your chin up.hope insurance dont drag there feet.all the best.ours has gone now, given up caravanning now due to illness and old age.ours was parked at the rear of the house and a constant worry of theft.had more locks and chains than a prison fitted.it used to take me 15 to 25 minutes to remove the locks.never minded that as it would have taken a scumbag a lot longer giving a chance of them getting caught.
------------- the only silly question is the one you do not ask.
It is sickening...I really feel for you. We spend so much time and effort choosing the right caravan for us and then making it nice and homely, its not just the monetry value that is the problem when one is stolen, it's the sentimental value too.
I hope your insurance pay out in a timely fashion and you find yourself another caravan that you love.
Just be wary of the dodgy characters who pull up at your home with the easily removed magnetic sign with their " business" name without phone number or bogus mobile number stuck on the side of their van, offering to clean your gutters etc..
Although there are a few caravan owners in our cul-de-sac I am the only one that has it parked up at home, way down bottom of our garden on hardstanding.
I was the only house he visited and wondered why he was taking so long to ring the door bell, then realised he had went straight down the side of the house up to the large gate, I believe checking out the caravan.
I went out and asked him what he was doing and he said he was checking the gutters before ringing the door bell, I said thats funny there are no gutters at the side of the house and you do not just wonder about someones property and I think you better b****r off smartish or I will phone the police..oh! and by the way I've got a lovely picture of you on the cctv and note of your van reg etc.
I phoned the police anyway as there are a few of these characters always working in the area several times a year. They usually rip of older people with bogus roof repairs.
I dealt with many of them in my last job before retiring.
------------- It is a wise man who has something to say.
It is a fool who has to say something.
i hope your caravan insurance gives you a good payout you did everything to keep it safe but there are some scumbags out there not bother .
iF you get another caravan try a Hitchpost in front of the van or Highter Security Fencing in font of it if there is room Or in this (Caravan CASSOA Storage)
