Thanks for all the sympathy. Insurance has just paid out and I have now purchased a Fleetwood Heritage 560/4 and have installed a hitch post and CCTV as well as the usual theft deterrents. Also thinking of chaining a rottweiller to the post (the missus) lol.
Just out of interest who were you insured through, and was it a fairly easy process getting a settlement.

Insured through Towergate. They sent an independent assessor who looked at where it was stolen from, confirmed security devices and that was that. Two months later we agreed a settlement figure, which I thought was generous, and the money should be in my bank this week. I expected the premium for the new caravan to be quite high but I was again pleasantly surprised.
Good to know that it seems to have been pretty straightforward.

If you have a house alarm get an electrician to put in an outside plug to wire in your van. That would have woken you up!!!! Best of luck for the future. We also had £12000 taken from our drive some years ago.
