Plus the indelible post code pen is invaluable to write on things you do not want others the steal & be able to keep as it does not come off.
Kids stuff for school to keep it theirs would benefit from this pen writer.

I was going to mark my TV etc with my postcode and then realised that if anyone broke into my caravan they would have my home postcode and might realise that my house was empty as I was away in my caravan. You have to balance risks and I do not know what is best.

We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.

Most criminals, 'work' in a small area local to where they live and do not travel very far as it takes them out of their comfort zone. Also if you use UV indelible marker it's not easy to see without a uv lamp. The chances of your home being traced via stolen property from your caravan is small. I mark our valuables and would advise others to do the same. The overriding thing though is to be comfortable with your choices and be security conscious .
In true Crimewatch style sleep well and don't have nightmares.

I recently had a bust up with Cris and wondered if anybody else had suffered the same problem. In July 2013 I bought a second hand 2012 Lunar Lexon. The person I bought it from had bought it brand new, so I then became the second owner. We both filled in all the details on the registration document and I sent it to Cris with the fee. When I received the registration document back, it said previous owners NIL. I emailed them explaining that this was incorrect, it should read previous owners ONE, as I was the second owner. I had a rather curt reply saying their computer system couldn't handle this complicated mathmatical calculation, so I would have to write a letter to the new owner (if I sold the van) explaining this! Well that was like a red rag to a bull. I told them if they didn't send me a correct document, with the correct information on it, then I wanted my money back, and would be writing to all the caravan magazines, the National Caravan Council and anybody else I could think of! After a short delay, I received a very apologetic reply explaining they had fixed the computer, and my new ammended document was in the post, with previous owners ONE on it. Horrah! Every time I open a caravan magazine I'm faced with a full page advert from Cris saying how wonderful the scheme is, and how it shows the number of previous owners the caravan has had. Well if thats what we are paying for...Lord help us!
