Hi all.
First question of many I would imagine.
The electronic ignition on the gas cooker doesn't work. It's a Stoves 500 dit.
The gas works fine, but the ignition doesn't light, there's no ticking noise but the actual switch you press does have 12v power to it.
Any idea on a possible fault and cure?
Thank you x
Try the mains as ours works only when connected service man said it was US tested on 12volt only put on mains works fine best try when connected to both good luck
Thanks all... its not the switch, as i have joined the switch wires "bypassing the switch" Tried with mains and battery.. visually checked all wires are connected to the ignition generator, cant actually get my hands on the generator without actually taking off the top of the cooker! got a feeling that the ignition generator itself could have stopped working.

When a previous posted stated battery, I think they were referring a battery other than the vans leisure battery. On a van I once owned the ignition ran of some Duracell 'D' sides batteries which lived behind the oven.
Do you have a multimeter you can check the wiring to see if there is any voltage?
Here is a quote from my hob installation manual " care must be taken when the hob is sited in position that none of the wires come into contact with the top of the Midi Prima, as this could cause failure of the spark ignition to the hob" so possible you may have a loose wire or connection or wire casing has chafed and bared the core causing a short.
