It only cost £63 for us to go to France last year, !!!
Think the Isle of Wight can be left as undiscovered for us at those prices .
Went once as a foot passenger, thought it was nice but can't justify spending that much on a ferry crossing.
------------- Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway.
Part of the problem is that they use old boats which provided space for smaller cars. Cars have got much bigger, even the smaller ones, so they can't get as many on the ferries as they used to thus increasing running costs. Not to mention the increased cost of fuel.
No money for new boats.

Sorry, didn't make it clear, last year Towsure had leaflets out detailing offers from Red Funnel, travel at certain dates and times,to one of four sites and the cost(for 5 days)was approx £152 for ferry and pitch
We have booked to go in June with Red Funnel on their site / ferry deal for £176 inc site fees, which, imo, is not too bad in the scheme of things!
Tried both clubs and the cost was higher on both. CC wanted £200+ so went to Red Funnel.
My Sister lives on the island and the costs for her are horrendous, it's fast becoming a "prison island" as the costs keep spiraling upwards, very expensive place to get to (and leave!)
We go every year for 2 weeks..this year we are thinking of trying a rally..and not our usual site..a big difference in price ..over £200 cheaper..so we have to book ferry as a long stay.. £136 for july/aug not bad ! ..

I nearly booked for easter on the RF ferry/pitch deal. At £176 inc car/caravan and pitch for 5 nights it's a very good deal.
When you consider that the ferry cost is c£90 return, compared with other quoted prices it doesn't seem that bad.
I did get a quote last year just for the ferry and was quoted c£350 return in August. It's just not worth visiting at that time of the year IMO!
