vissit trosachs ANY OTHER IDEAS GUYS WOULD BE GREAT aLSO MEMBERS OF THE CARAVAN CLUB SO WILL be useing there CL Sites as well
All the places you mentioned are good for touring about and there will be lots to see and explore.
Moffat is a good caravan site and the Main Street is excellent for shopping.
Don't forget to get some Moffat Toffee (a hard boiled sweetie) in the Toffee Shop on the main street and almost directly opposite, down a side street is a good Fish & Chip shop.
We live about 15 miles (as the crow flies) from the Trossachs National Park.
There is lots to do in and around Aberfoyle and what you get up to will rather depend on whether you are just adults or if you have kids with you.
100 to 150 miles a day is about right. That is the mileages that we aim for.
We did a tour last year and loved it. Our favourite site was port a baigh near achiltibuie. Maybe it was how the sum just popped out from the clouds when we arrived but we spent a couple of nights there and it was lovely. Not far from Ullapool with its lovely pie shop. We enjoyed the whole of the west coast, but found the east a bit drab in areas.
Although the Falkirk wheel is worth a look if you're over that way.
I had always wanted to go to john O groats which we did, but it was a big disappointment.
Hope you enjoy your time, I wish we had longer as the west has so many amazing spots.
We are planning a 3 week tour this year. A few days in Northumberland on the way up to see Lindisfarne etc. A few days in the Cairngorms. Then park the van up north and ferry/B & B to Orkney for a couple of days. Then Skye for a week to explore the West Coast (my favourite bit of Scotland). Then back via Glencoe for a couple of days.
I could recommend a couple of nights at the C & CC site at Luss - at the southern end of the Trossachs National Park, right on the shore of Loch Lomond and with views to die for. Luss village itself is lovely, and only a few minutes walk from the site. Also if you're going up the west coast then try to have a few days in the Arisaig area if you can - gorgeous scenery and fabulous views. There are a few camp sites on the coast just outside Arisaig village, I stayed at Invercaimbe. Check out my blog from May 31st to June 9th last year for some pics of Luss, Arisaig and various other places I went to, it may give you some ideas.
