Hi,
I know there's lots of posts about awnings and I have read a good majority of them in the last couple of days but I'm not sure I've answered my question.
Everyone seems to say get a little bigger than the measurement you need, my Hobby needs a 1006, which is fine and I think that translates to a Dorema & Sunncamp Size 15, or a 1000 in Gateway, Kampa & Isabella but is a Size 16 or a 1025 too big? Lords knows how many makes to choose from.....recommendations gratefully recieved.
As it's my first awning I'm hoping to grab a secondhand bargain but.....how much either side is too big for a van measurement of 1006?
Thanks in advance for any help in this minefield :-)
Lisa
The way to calculate it and make sense of it is to convert the measurement to imperial which gives you a much better idea how much bigger the size actually is in real terms, so 1025 cms. minus 1006 cms. = 19 cms. which converted to imperial measurement is just under 8 inches. This means that at each end of the awning rail the extra material will be about 3-4 inches longer. If you are on sloping ground you may well benefit from the extra length but if the material is too excessive by and inch or so you can always pull the caravan up on to a pair of ramps with the towcar which will give that extra height if required.
