Last year we only went away for 2 weekends and so we just moved food/toiletry items from the kitchen to the caravan but now we will be away numerous times over the year I;m thinking I should think about having some basics int he caravan so I#m not spending ages moving things about.

What sort of food stuffs do you keep in the caravan all year? I'm thinking salt and pepper etc but do you keep pasta and cereals in there or take that sort of thing out?

we always take loads of tinned food, but usually end up taking most of it back home !! I like to buy locally produced stuff wherever we go..even eggs seem to be nicer if they are local to where you are staying !!

We always keep cereals, pasta, sauces in the caravan, also sweets, crisps and part baked bread, smells amazing in the confines of a caravan.
Also we keep toiletries, outdoor clothing in ours, just saves lugging everything around and potentially forgetting something.

We go away quite a lot so we keep all the bedding in. As above, we leave food items that will keep and we have a cupboard (which we call the cellar!!!) which is well stocked with wine and spirits. All we need to take in addition is clothes and any fresh food / fridge items that we need for the break.

My old boss always said I had the only caravan with a wine cellar! Now I know I am not the only one...we go away a lot and I also keep non perishable food, bedding, some clothes, toiletries.

Same here. We keep as much as we can in the caravan to make going away easier. We have some storage boxes that keep in the cupboards with various things that we keep onboard.

Got a complete set of toiletries, some not perishable food so we can find something to eat just in case we can't buy anything straight away, some clothes like jumpers and coats that we don't have to take home every time and of course the obligatory treats like sweets, crisps and of course alcohol.

Makes going away so much easier and we've always got some essentials on board.

Once the van is stocked up at the start of the season the only thing we have to put in it before going away is fresh food and bedding (this comes straight off our bed and into the van). When it comes to pasta and cereals we use plastic containers, have been told this keeps the mice away. Toiletries, we have one set for the house and one set for the caravan. Wine cellar has to be stocked up after every trip

Bedding, toiletries, tinned and packet foods and waterproofs stay in the van.
All I need to do is pack some clothes and some fresh food and off I go.

Absolutely nothing since mice got into my sisters caravan and ate all the food then started on non edible stuff.

Possibly to make a nest close to the food. Sponges and cleaning cloths, Tissues etc all got eaten.

As basic foods go we keep the following in our van all year
Tea
Coffee
Sugar
Sauce
Salt & pepper
Vinegar
Pot noodles
Cereal
Tinned Soup
Tinned peas
Tinned potatoes
Tinned Sweetcorn
Tinned spaghetti
Baked Beans
Tinned fruit
Tinned custard
Tinned curry
Tinned Carrots
Rice
Tinned hot dogs
Quick boil pasta
Pasta sauce
Meat Balls
Longlife Milk
Beer and wine

We only take from home - milk, bacon and eggs and bread.

We find that this list ensures that when we get to site we can have a meal of choice before looking for a local shop to buy fresh food. and all of this can be prepared quickly too.

We also keep a full set of toiletries and bedding and top up as required, changing the bedding after every trip. Along with clothing for 3 days and nights (just because we often make a decision to just up and go somewhere after work on a Friday)

I keep toiletries permanently in the van.
Food wise tea and sugar, pasta, tinned tomatoes, herbs and spices and a tin of spam. That way if I forget to pick up my food I can always make a meal of sorts.
Dog food and dog treats
I change sheets bedding after a trip and put in clean towels.

As above really. Pasta and tinned foods. Squash for the kids. Tea/coffee, salt pepper and ketchup and Toiletries.

I've bought some bedding this year specifically for the caravan and vacuum packed it to keep it fresh. This will save dragging the stuff from indoors everytime we go away.

Due to the ridiculous noseweight of our van when empty (100kg+) we use tinned food as one of things to counterbalance that by storing it under the rear fixed bed.

We try and eat out when holidaying but keep a stock of tinned veg (Asda value no less, nothing but the best for us!), a couple Fray Bentos pies, baked beans (Heinz, we're not *that* cheap), sauces and condiments, small pots of jam and preserves and the like. I also travel on business a fair bit so can stock up on coffee sticks and teabags which we also keep in the 'van.

We take perishables and fresh food with us in the car then decant into the caravan when we arrive on site. Often we'll prepare batches of food that we can freeze and take away with us and defrost on site - chilli, cottage pie etc. When it's not so cold and damp we'll also store cereals in plastic snap-lock tubs between trips.

Apart from the usual basic bedding and condiments, we always make sure we have enough for 2 dinners. IE 2 Fray Bentos tinned pies, one chicken, one steak. 2 tins of boiled potatoes, 1 tin Baked Beans and 1 tin Peas.

Like others, we tend to food shop locally but the tinned foods are always there just in case we arrive late and cannot get to the shops.
