And no, I don't bother using it. It's like using your car's aircon with the windows open - waste of time.
we use salt in butter dishes and it seems to work. we change salt whenever we go to the caravan through the winter. (this year we have tried the salt you throw on paths to get rid of the ice) works just as well.
you will be surprised how much moisture you extract from the air.
our think is: we would sooner have the moisture in our cartons than on our furniture.
