The only problem maybe doing it in storage is our one wouldn't let them in. We are not allowed mobile engineers or servicing to be done on site. all our cars that we use must be registered as cameras operate 24/7.

I know it sounds as if I am touting for business (tameside a bit far for me) But its best to get someone who knows how to valet caravans properly, yes I know they advertise they valet caravans & motorhomes but do they really know how delicate they can be??????/

Hi I hope you dont mind me popping in this thread and saying hi,

I am starting up as a mobile caravan valeter in the North York/ Teesside area this month - originally cleaning the insides but now also offering an exterior service.

I have thoroughly researched the delicate nature of cleaning caravans and understand the need to use the right product the right way and offer Fenwicks products supported with Autoglym where appropriate. I love their super resin polish!

Again, not looking for business... although that would be nice, would anyone care to assist my market research? Ie what are you looking to have done and how much do YOU feel is reasonable.

I'll see if I can find somewhere appropriate to say hi properly

Hi Ally, last year we paid 50 for the outside to be done by hand and this year we paid the same for it to be power washed and wiped down after by hand. He was approx an hour yet the year before they guy was on it for about 2.5 hours. I would have had the same person as the first year but when I looked on his website he had stopped trading. The guy I used this year mostly did cars and vans, caravans were only a small percentage of his business. I know power wash is not ideal on a caravan but I couldn't find anyone else to do it by hand round our area. Hope this helps.

An Hour to valet a caravan it can sometimes take me double that just to do the roof on some vans. I also use a pressure washer but do know how and where to use it (low pressure and wide fan)

From what I have seen around here, there are services from window cleaners that use water fed poles or car valeters doing a kind of wash wax and rinse off and not many doing it.

I suppose it depends on the age of the van and condition etc. my current project is 30 years old and no way I could do it justice in an hour but I'm paid commision on its final sale price so fitting it in around other jobs and its a great advert for me as its currently in a storage area of a busy campsite.

Its such a shame to see mucky vans, they look unloved and sad .... I just want to run after them all and offer to clean them! I wonder if that would work as a marketing technique lol.

Caravans and motorcycles and powerwashers... same issues really, I wash both by hand/ hosepipe or even water pump sprayers.

I hope you find someone in your area soon and thanks again for the input.

I am curious as to how people who say they only use a hose pipe to clean vans, how can you possibly get wheel arches and J rails clean using a hose pipe????????????
