I have moisture in the wall around the Thetford Toilet cistern. I had this in my Avondale and fixed it by reseating the external filler door.

My new van is a Bailey Ranger 550 2007 and again I have the problem, in late October I reseated and resealed the filler door and also resealed the main waste door as it simply wont detach from the van body.

This time Im not 100% it has fixed the issue its been so the wet and cold the wall will have no chance of the moisture level reducing until summer I guess?

In the filler door if i open it the foam seal pad is always wet but i understand it can be due to condensation rising out of the cistern, also there is always a clear small pool of water on the pipe going into the cistern, again unsure if condensation or rain water. I know these doors sometimes just bend or buckle but need to be sure before I fork out for a new one?

With the main door I have resealed the outside and I have silicone sprayed the seals to make sure they havent gone solid. There is a small amount of water on the bottom left and its clear , not pink, so is likely rain water. Previous owner has laid a lot of sealent inside the locker and in the groove along the bottom of the opening on the door frame. Again not sure if simply needs new seals or if something more complicated. I have just applied vaseline to the seals and after lots of rain last night its dry inside.

There is no wet pink water anywhere so Im sure the cistern tank has not split. Its all clear water causing the issues. I checked the cistern and there was no water coming out so again no great volume of rain water getting in there.

So in summary I hope I have fixed problems but how can I be sure until the wall starts to dry out, ie warmer weather??
