Is it best to cover my caravan when it is in storage or not? Have heard lots of reasons to use a cover and lots against. Would appreciate
anyones view.
I would only use one if maybe it was under trees. Otherwise no. I had a supposedly 'good one', but it rubbed the surface off the paint when it was windy.

Thanks for the info, exactly what I was told, want to look after the van so not sure the best way to keep it looking the best. would the best way to look after it just keep it clean ?
We've had our caravan "Glamourshield"/"Supaguard"-ed, inside and out. Also did the same with our last one. Helps maintain the level of cleanliness/polished appearance, makes it much easier to clean and brings it up looking bright and shiny. Inside on upholstery and carpets it works like Scotchguard - you dab out the spill/stain which comes out much more easily. Guaranteed effective for 3 years, then I guess you can have it re-done or let nature take its course!
A caravan needs to breathe, so by covering it externally with a cover can cause condensation internally which in time can lead to damp. At the end of the day you have to weigh up whether you would rather spend a few hours cleaning the caravan or spend a few weeks making unavoidable damp repairs in the future. After reading past threads on this forum regarding caravan covers and the damage they can do, it is one item that I would never invest in.
we keep ours covered in the winter but its a old 1999 model .so its a probable good move .i don't think i would use one on a new van though .
i must add i live within a couple of hundred yards of the welsh dee estuary and a regular occurrence is sand in the wind and rain coating house windows and cars with a fine layer of sand
Ours is under a tree so we use a protec cover. A lot of people make claims that covers cause condensation or scratch paintwork etc. but these claims don't come from people who have used protec or specialised covers. If you are getting one then get one from one of these manufacturers who tailor make them for your caravan model so they don't flap around and are truly breathable.

Specialised cover here. 1982 caravan, prone to leaks, which over winter could develop into rot if not noticed. Agree with Brian about these covers, you can tell mine is breathable by the dust when I take it off! However, no major cleaning to be done, just a quick rinse with a hose. I bought mine on ebay for approx £20, best bargain ever, I reckon!
OP as you have an Adria with polyester roof and sides you won't be as prone to scratches or dents as most other makes.
However as the Adria's are generally well protected from damp ingress on the main outside areas I wouldn't (and we don't) bother with a cover.
The downside is the van will get dirtier over winter and the roof especially is a job that you may need to do every so often to keep the sides and front cleaner (water runs off obviously and if roof dirty the sides and front will get dirtier)
You also do need to make sure your van is very clean when you cover it, and if using year round you have the pain of fitting and removing each trip
Hi I have just got a 3ply cover for my van i have seen all the other vans in storage were mine is and they are either filthy or covererd in moss, cant understand why people leave their vans so dirty i have just spent two days waxing the whole van top and bottom two coats but still have to do the middle bit on the roof as i cant Reach.
so i would say put a good coat of wax on it and get a breatherble cover it wont scratch with the wax on it .

Used a quest breathable cover for the first time this winter as our van was in outside storage, it kept the van dry and clean but make sure you get the correct size so a snug fit.
