Can anyone suggest a good cleaner for the interior of C250 cassette?
We bought our van 2nd hand and I'd really like to get the cassette clean, but don't want the expense of a freshen up kit.
Is the Thetford cleaner value for money, or is there a cheaper method.
Also, what is the best way to prevent the black bits caused by using pink in the flush, and what is the best way to get them out of the tank?
Every year I take the top off (the slider bit)clean out with lime scale remover (homebase) leave it to soak a bit then rinse in shower then use Dettol cleaner for the rest of it and finally do the seals with olive oil and its been fine with no leaks...
I always empty and flush the pink stuff tank with clean water after every trip.
I know some folks leave some in the tank and imo thats part of the problem.
I have not been bothered with black bits in the flush water since I started doing this.
I also stopped using Thetfords own pink flush chemical as I think that was also part of the problem,I now use the Blue Diamond equivelent and no black bits.

We use blue diamond no Black bits. I flush it through at the beginning of the season with Milton and leave it for a while. ...I fill the flush tank with milton leave for 30 mins then pump that into the waste tank leave for 30 mins then empty then flush all through again with fresh water. After every trip I just swish out the waste tank with fresh water and do the seals regularly with olive oil
