Hello I'm totaly new to caravans and haven't got the first clue about them. I came across this site after spending our hard earned money on a caravan which I've found out has got damp the timber is rotten, I feel totaly utterly stupid anyway apart from that it didn't come with any paperwork I was told it was a year 2000 how do I find out if it actualy is? I've tried checking the numbers on the windows but there's only 16 digits when I've read there should be 17 (STG2000BXU000875) ,, the make and model is buccaneer schooner on the side it says avantgarde 2000 please can anyone give me any information I feel totaly gutted thank you :)

Sorry to hear you've had such a bad start to caravanning :-( There's lots of info on how to fix damp here http://www.1carpc.co.uk/wcdr/ - many people on here have successfully carried out their own repairs. Did you buy from a dealer or privately?

Post up a photo of it, somebody will identify it. If you want to fix it, it don't really matter what model it is. Damp repairs are much the same whatever make & model.
