What's the best way to tie (not turn, b****y predictive text) down a full awning on a windy site? We have used good pegs suitable for the ground and pegged it all round. 2 storm straps on sides staked down. Is that sufficient do you think? The guy next to us has straps attached to centre pole -i'm not sure about that as, surely it would pull down on the pole? Any tips or thoughts?
You can only strap it so much. In the death, in a gale the framework of poles will go. Once one has failed, thats it. One ratchet strap hooked over spike on top of centre pole of awning, angled straight ahead, securely pegged & tensioned will all help. You need to ensure external storm straps are not chafing awning material though.
