Hi..had alook at the 'crappy old' caravans forums..and thought these caravans are far from 'crappy'....was wondering if any of the members still had them, and if they had any problems on sites etc..as heard that some sites dont allow caravans on over 15 years..Only asking as we have a 1987 trophy medallion 350/2 with matching old ' frilly' awning...and hoping to go out in it over the easter break.
------------- 1st outing...Blackpool caravan club site (april 2014)
Your are probably confusing this with static caravan parks with rules requiring replacement of tenant's caravans after a fixed period 10-15yrs. I've never heard of campsite rules barring touring caravans due only to age although some refuse commercial vans etc.

I hope you're right! I think it's dreadful not to allow older caravans on sites. I do know about that rule with the statics, but haven't heard that about tourers.
Age limits sometimes apply to static caravans on some sites.
Never had a problem on a touring site and my caravan is nearly 45 years old and decorated in rather a distinct manner!
I've never come across it nowadays. I know many years ago in the 1970's when we 1st started caravanning the Caravan Club had an age limit, 20yrs old I think, but not now.
I don't have a caravan anymore, but when we did, I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of crappy old caravans that were on the site we stayed on (going back a few years, Glenmore in Aviemore). The laugh of it was, they were always towed by brand, spanking new cars!
We had a second-hand caravan at the time and had great chats with the "crappy old caravan" owners. Their vans were immaculate - SO well looked after. And LOVED.
