Had our first outing of the season at the weekend and after setting everything up we found that our cooker wasn't working.

First stage was to check gas bottle - empty - so bought a new bottle.

Cooker is still not working.

Nothing was switched off in October when we had our last outing.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what may be wrong and what I can do to remedy the problem.

this happened to us before with our MH, but we just had to wait a good hour for it to "kick in". I think it was just because we hadn't used it for a while?

However, if you've done that, then you might need the gas valve or pipe replaced.

Are you sure all the gas taps are on? Look under kitchen sink area there should be an isolator valve there chech to see if it's on.

Airlock? Ours takes a while to fire up in fact I light the gas rings first to get the gas through

All the valves are in the 'on position'.

How would I know if there was an airlock?

Well it wouldn't light for one thing
Just try one gas ring for a minute or two and see if it comes on
Have you tried disconnecting the pigtail pipe to the bottle? and reconnecting?
Micro-wave ready meals can't beat them....

was anything else working on gas,and has it got a bulkhead mounted regulator.If nothing is working on gas suspect the regulator if fridge ,heater and water heater work on Gas I would get a qualified service engineer to check the cooker.

Darthlillcat that's a good idea - I've never used any of the other things you listed on gas before and to be honest I was wary of trying them for the first time in 4 years - dont even know if the previous owners used them.
