Had to cancel our weeks holiday due to commence on saturday as a stupid idiot driving a van, while blabbing on his phone has hit our car. Damage is all to front driver side, and is undriveable. Good thing is our car was parked, and no-one was hurt at least. Cant get a 7 seater courtesy car never mind one big enough to safely pull the van so no choice but to cancel.
Site has allowed us to change booking, but Im raging.
No point in being off work either now, may as well come in next week. Hopefully car gets repaired in time to allow us to go to Maragowan in 3 weeks time

That's dreadful - if it was me I'd have ripped somebody's head off before now! I hope you manage to get your car sorted soon also that the driver gets done for being on his phone!

The good news is that nobody was as damaged as the car. Had an idiot do that to us whilst driving home on a beautiful quiet sunny Sunday, ran straight into the back of our van.
It does make you mad but you have to let it go, no point getting stressed, he won't be. Best of luck with repair.

Teach a man to fish and you can get rid of him for a whole weekend.
Sorry to hear your bad news but as others have said no one was hurt. I would have wanted to rip his head off too. The number of people you see blatantly using their mobile phone whilst driving makes me want to scream, and the police never seem to catch them. Hope you get sorted quickly and enjoy your re booked holiday.

Police said as no -one was hurt, they cant take the phone away for investigation, however the insurance company can if they so wish???? (driver denied making a call)but regardless there was an independant witness who verified it, so he has been reported for careless driving and using a mobile while driving, and is going to court.
what Ive only just found out was my OH was standing at the spot literally 30 seconds before it happened. so shes a bit shaken up about that

Website says they all have towbars. Maybe insurance company will authorise a rental?
Already cancelled our pitch Jess, trying to find a static for hire at short notice, old mans giving me a shot of his car, so between that and my vectra, we should get a holiday if I can find a static to hire lol. And I've just had a look, I would need a 7 seater anyway which they don't seem to do sadly

Sorry to hear about your holiday. We are in a similar position after hubby hit a badger on sunday. Car should be back by the 14th and we go away on the 17th so fingers crossed. It will be our first outing in the new to us van, so really looking forward to it. We have a courtesy car but its not suitable for towing either.
OH just spoke to the insurance this morning, should have the car back by next friday, damage by all accounts looks worse than it is, new wing, bumper, headlight unit. hoping to hear about a static at haggerston this afternoon so maybe all not doom and gloom
