HI We have just stayed on Kendal caravan club site where speed bumps have been installed. Please be aware these are fairly high and most are staggered. Due to this configeration the caravan A frame will tend to twist when the caravan passes over them; We appreciate the need for safety but feel that more consideration should have been given to the positioning and height of them. I presume all Caravan Club sites will have these installed.
Is there not a limit on the height of speed bumps? We had speed bumps installed in one of the roads around us and they were so high. Most of the residents complained and the council had to lower them.
Yes, there is a limit on the height - 100 mm - but that applies only on public roads. If you obey the ludicrously low 5mph limits on CC sites you should have no trouble
Of course, they should really be called "anti-speed bumps", shouldn't they?

And if you obey the ludicrously low 5mph at least your less likely to have a accident that results in severe injury or a death !!
If the chassis twists going over speed bumps I think you have serious issues and weaknesses in your chassis. All you are doing is lifting the wheels up a few inches. If the bumps are staggered then the wheels are lifted one at a time.
This situation will occur to a greater degree every time the van is serviced or wheels changed etc.
Glad to hear of tradesmen clearing up after themselves.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
