If you have a single 12n socket & you want full 13pin electrics for caravan then extra wiring through car is required so price is probably reasonable. If you already have 12n & 12s sockets on your car then you can change these for a single 13pin either by wiring 13pin socket to both cables, which is a bit of a bodge & may let in water & corrode socket so better to run 13core cable into car. Easy enough diy if you can use tools.
If you mean caravan has twin 12n/12s pugs & not single 13pin plug then just get extra 12s socket fitted to car rather than 13pin socket then you won't need to buy an adaptor.
