We have an Alde compact heating system. We cannot get the heating to work.
We have set the inside temp to 25 (outside currently 18) and the electricity to 3 but the circulation pump symbol refuses to come on whatever we do.
Help….my withering children are driving us mad about being cold and its not even nighttime.
What are we doing wrong??? Anyopne else have this problem. I thought the pump came on automatically when you set the temperature higher than the ambient temperature.
The manual is less than useless.
Can I clarify one point.
The temperature has to be set higher than the temperature presently in the van to induce the pump to run. The outside ambient plays no part in controlling the basic 3010 system.
Check the batteries in the programmer, usually 2 x AA at the bottom of the unit. The front pulls off to access them, but be carefull, there are 3 fine contact pins at the back which are easily bent. Thats the usual cause of the problem but I've also had a faulty controller do this. Pray its the first one because the second costs about £100.
Set the temp to 30 and see then Have you got the manual that just deals with the controller? as the system comes with two manuals one for the boiler and the other for the programmer..
Have you checked the fluid level, we were next to someone this weekend with a caravan on its first outing and their heating wouldn't work, the fluid was low.
