It will also pay for 4 nights on a non-club campsite costing £10 a night
Yeah and I can imagine just how good it would be for £10 a night , you show me a caravan site that has good showers, toilets , hard standing and EHU at 16amp and all for £10 per night AND on a Bank Holiday week end
If I were to do that, everyone would want to go there and I might not get a pitch when I want one. Do your own research
You could try Jaker's site in Wales who has pitches for Easter for 4 people with ehu (16amp) and awning for 7 nights £150...which works out at £5.36 per person per night.
There are plenty of sites that do not come under the dragonian rules of the CC or C&CC. They have good facilities but perhaps not the 'on pitch' services which perhaps mean walking a short distance to the shower(if you don't have one) or filling/emptying the water container at the appropriate point or heaven forbid not having or sharing an electricity point. Too many people now a days seek 5* facilities when they should be enjoying what camping/caravaning is all about ---- freedom to enjoy family life.

People should be seeking what they want from caravanning, not what someone else deems they should be in my opinion.
If for some that is 5* quality then there are sites that cater for that both here and abroad. If others want back to nature and basic facilities that of course is out there for them to seek.
Just enjoy getting out of the office/home whatever and have a good time everyone

In your opinion.
You can still have quality family life on a five star site.
We're stopping on a C.L for Easter £12 a night, hard standing with electric. The 5 van site which is on a farm has a shower and loo if you want to use them, I prefer to use my own. We tend to use these C.L. sites during summer and Bank holidays, we use CC sites during winter when the prices are at the lowest, this makes caravanning more affordable. We don't use the C&CC sites very much we prefer the CC as they let you choose your own pitch. We are members of both clubs and we think it's worth the £100 a year (less than £2 a week for both clubs) just for the magazines alone, so what can anyone loose by being a member. P.S. We also save a fortune during summer in the UK and France using Alan Rogers camping cheques.

------------- a tent, folding camper and 6 caravans later ... June
caravans are camping.I love making breakfast on a primus stove on a nice morning, nothing like parraffin flavoured bacon sarnis.I also like using the barbi, and to me thats what its about, playing with your cooking toys and enjoying the holiday, not the site.If you want 5 star then book a hotel.I like my own space in my own van doing what i want regardless of where i am.
Every time weve used CCC they have either told us what pitch to go on or the warden has taken us to the pitch, the CC let you choose from whats available

Hahaha! Senior moment Bobmel . you are right. I ment The Caravan Club not The Camping & Caravan Club. We mostly use the CC. I have edited my post. Totally embarrassed lol.
