We used up the last of the gas at the weekend and looking at swapping to lightweight gas bottles any recommendations, which do we need butane or propane?

We have a 5kg and a 10 kg bottle. For EU we carry a 907 camping gaz and small portable double burner hob. Ourt reason for buying was to keep the nose weight down.
The shop I use had a delivery today and when they asked the dirver about the calor lite bottles he just laughed!
If you are going for lite it will have to be Macgas at Homebase IMO.
We have used calorlite for ages and have never had any trouble with supplies. Calor provide a list of suppliers on their website if your away from home.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

No Homebase is not the only place to get Gas-lights, I have two local to me who actually do home delivery for 85% of what Homebase charge [normal non discounted Homebase price].
Putting my post code in the link found from the above post I even find there are outlets I was not aware of.
My understanding from talking to a Flogas* outlet is they are at present banned by a pre existing agreement between BP and Homebase, to retail Gas-Lights. But that situation is due to change when the agreement runs out.
However, the outlets previously selling BP branded products can continue to sell Gas-lights, the situation for the two local ex BP retailers I deal with.
* Flogas being now the principal owning MacGas who market Gas-Light.
Calor lites are in short supply but it's getting better. Calor are now treating the lite bottles as a separate entity, you can't swap any other bottle for one. If you want one you'll have to pay the £34.25 hire charge. If you manage to get one without this you've been very lucky. I sell the stuff and calor will now only supply the exact number of lite bottles that they receive back on the same delivery,or the balance must be made up with Hire agreement forms.

We tried to exchange our calor lite at Go Outdoors Wakefield a couple of weeks ago and they did not have any.
Tried my local supplier today and he told me there is supposed to be a large delivery coming into the country soon but it will take a while to turn them around.
Swapped back to a normal 6kg bottle and will stick with them now.
Cheaper too.
